It is located at the largest shopping mall in Honolulu. Fantastic and upscale renovation. We visit there hopping to find a place served the authentic Cantonese style chicken. We ordered two different dishes. Texture of the chicken is not as good as local raised chicken. It is plain and soft. Other dishes are not bad though.
Came here for lunch. This is at Ala Moana mall. Plenty of parking when we went. Glad we had reservations. When we arrived the place was packed. We had ordered so much food that I forgot to take pictures on all of the dishes. Fried rice was very good. The peking duck was the best! The pork buns were superb.
Authentic Chinese. A given. Surprised to discover a good milk tea here. Just doing this review 'cos of my new discovery as a milk tea addict lol. Food was great! Can be loud during peak hours.
Dim sum was terrific! Really delicious dishes, these were 5/5: shrimp spring roll (very crispy/crunchy wrap and tasty shrimp on the inside), deep fried mochi balls (crunchy sesame coated covering sweet black bean paste), pan fried chicken potstickers (large size gyoza with crispy fried wrapper and tender chicken inside), bbq pork look fun roll (tasty lightly chewy covering with tender bbq pork filling), snow mountain char siu bun (lightly sweet and very crumbly coating over sweet tender char siu - filling reminds me of char hung sut manapua ). Other dishes were pretty good 4/5: shrimp and chive dumplings (tasty pieces of shrimp - lots of chives - a little “watery”), beef chow fun (small pieces of beef and chow fun a little dry). 3/5 char siu fried rice (fried rice is usually on the dry side, but this rice was really dry and bland - I had to add some shoyu). Overall very good dim sum, prices for the dim sum dishes are very reasonable, other dishes like the fried rice and chow fun were pricey compared to quality (taste factor), dim sum is highly recommended! They get crowded, but the 15-20 minute wait is worth it. Restaurant itself gets crowded, but the service is pretty quick.
Large restaurant with plenty of seating- so we didn’t wait to get in,an extensive menu, plenty of helpers (went at 11am on a Friday). Had dimsum which were served fresh and hot. Enjoyed the custards & roast duck.
After having a very subpar experience back in 2013 where almost everything we ordered was out, we never returned until now. A decade plus has done them good! ATMOSPHERE: From the outside it looked like they were closed. But after checking in with the host and rounding the corner, the packed and bustling dining room revealed itself. FOOD: Beef Look Fun Roll Steamed though not as moist or flavorful as Legend or Happy Days’ versions. Roasted Duck Crisp skin and tender meat. The spouse was in love with the accompanying sauce. Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumplings (3 pcs.) Bigger and thicker than the norm, these were excellent. Baked Egg Custard Tarts (3 pcs.) Light, eggy, buttery, heavenly! Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (3 pcs.) Like a flowering bun exposing its stigma of red pork, the spouse loved it. Fried Rice w/ Chinese Sausage In Hot Stone Pot Yowza! Delish! Especially with the lup chong. Chicken Feet with Black Bean Mmm my all time fave dim sum dish. The flavor was very bold, perfectly steamed and tender, except for one foot that was rubbery. Pan Fried Chicken Potstickers These things were huge! Thicker than normal shells, expertly seared with crispy exteriors and steamed insides. Highly recommended. SERVICE: I was taken aback as the service was quite good in terms of how Chinese restaurants go. The expected curtness was absent, replaced by professionalism. OVERALL: Who knew they’d become a favorite?
Pretty decent Chinese place, but don’t order the crispy noodles with chicken that they have as recommended menu. Barely has any chicken. Otherwise it tasted decent. Fast efficient service.
